Inspired by geographic space, the object of study of his beloved science, Igor creates with plurality and breadth. He explores the spaces of exchange between human beings and the environment. This is why his work carries many pseudonyms: each character inhabits a specific field of knowledge.
Igor also works with visual arts, music and cinema, almost always through his great passion and starting point: writing. Song lyrics, short film scripts and presentation texts for artworks are some of his contributions in these areas.
Beyond art, Igor is a sports fan. He has played amateur handball since the age of 13 and still plays in Berlin, Germany. Curious about new cultures and languages, he has visited more than 50 countries. Traveling and exchanging experiences with people from different parts of the world feeds his thoughts and stories.
A self-declared romantic, Igor is moved by strong, profound music and films. Creativity has followed him since childhood, and he is not afraid to use it. Mythology fascinates him, especially African mythology. He admires and honors the orixás of Candomblé, even without being a formal devotee of the religion.
Born in Recife, Brazil, Igor carries the flag of his home state, Pernambuco, wherever he goes. Married to a German man, he lives between Berlin and Düsseldorf. It is in the constant clash between his Brazilian-born self and his German-naturalized self that Igor creates and recreates his projects.
